The Cruisers Yachts 3075 Express has always been recognized as one of the largest “30-footers” in the segment. With an overall length of 33’4” and a cabin whose accommodations rival most 33 foot models, buyers and owners of the 3075 Express truly get “more boat” for less money. Typically, a bigger boat often means a heavier boat. And as we all know, heavier means less fuel efficient. That is certainly not the case here. The 3075 Express weighs in at a mere 9,500 lbs; about 2,500 lbs less than a typical express yacht in the 30’ – 33’ class. Her end-grain balsa cored hull gives the 3075 more than just a lighter displacement, it also gives the boat great rigidity and structural integrity, while also providing superior sound-dampening qualities that make this boat ride quieter than most. And this boat’s modified V hull keeps her on plane at low speeds too. But let’s go back to what’s important, fuel economy. Recent technology has allowed marine engine manufacturers to build higher horsepower engines in smaller packages. For instance, this boat is equipped with the largest engine package available for the 2002 model year, a pair of electronic fuel injected Volvo Penta 5.0 Liter Gxi V8’s, producing 270-hp each, mated to a pair of Duoprop outdrives with counter-rotating, stainless steel propellers. Historically, an engine had to be a 5.7 Liter to produce this amount of horsepower found in these 5.0’s, and they got much worse fuel economy. It truly is the perfect power choice for this boat. At cruise speed, this boat is much more fuel efficient than her competitors, achieving approximately 1.8 miles per gallon. Because of the boat’s light weight, she is quick to plane, with an average planning time of 4 – 5 seconds. While I have never run this boat at full throttle for more than a few seconds, her top speed is estimated at 47 – 49 mph, depending on load and conditions.

Now let’s take a look at the many features and options on this boat. This is where you also get more for less, as this boat was ordered with EVERY SINGLE OPTION available. Starting at the bow, you will find the optional upgraded 175,000 candlepower remote spotlight and the Maxwell anchor windlass, complete with chain rode and foot control switches mounted on the foredeck. There are also windlass controls at the helm for convenience. The round hatch in the foredeck streams plenty of natural light into the cabin below. Access to the foredeck is via the Cruisers Yachts signature walk-through windshield. You can also access the foredeck via the narrow side decks. All deck surfaces feature aggressive non-skid for sure footing, and the entire bow features the highest quality, 316-grade stainless steel rails. These are welded for enhanced durability, not screwed together like some other brands are. The TaylorMade Clear Curve windshield is made from tempered glass and provides an unobstructed view all around. The frame is powder coated white, which is not only durable but also stays cool in the hot summer sun.

From the bow it is two steps down into the cockpit. This is where you will do all of your entertaining, which is made easy and enjoyable thanks to the wet bar with sink and Tundra 12v cockpit refrigerator. There is also a 120v electrical socket for mixing up those margaritas. Cockpit seating is plentiful, with room for up to 9. Aft and forward facing triple-wide seats allow for face-to-face conversation, and feature two tables that convert to one large sun pad (a feature we use quite often!) Because the seating on the boat is situated to the starboard side, this leaves a straight, unobstructed path from the walk through transom access door, directly to the cabin door. This is especially nice for those times when you are loading the boat for the weekend. There’s nothing to trip over! The entire cockpit is lined in snap-in removable carpet, which matches the optional snap-in carpet on the extended swim platform……more on that in a second! The cockpit seats are durable and comfortable. They are made with open cell dry-fast foam and covered in premium quality heavy gauge vinyl. All of the cockpit seats are in excellent condition, with no rips, tears, or gouges anywhere.

The large extended swim platform is another feature that Cruisers Yachts pioneered in the boat building industry. Not only does it give you endless entertainment and water sports possibilities, but it also keeps swimmers and divers safe. By extending out much farther than the outdrives do, there is little concern about a swimmer coming in contact with the outdrives. The platform is as wide as the boat, which also makes it safe. Its working load limit exceeds 1,000 lbs, allowing for a social gathering, chairs set up for evening sunsets, or the perfect spot to store and transport your dinghy while underway. There is a 4-step stainless steel boarding ladder tucked under the hatch in the platform, which makes climbing aboard from the water very easy to do. The platform also has integrated and back plated stainless steel cleats on each side. It is also covered with non-skid, and the optional removable snap-in carpet is a nice feature here. There is also an optional ski tow eye installed on the transom for pulling tubes, wakeboards, and skiers.

The transom storage compartment is wide and deep, providing the perfect storage space for your water toys. This compartment also houses the two 30 amp shore power inlets, cable TV and telephone inlet, city water connection, and the hot/cold transom shower for those after-dip rinses.

The helm features the signature black and gold color scheme, with the illuminated Faria gauges inset on the powder coated black and gold metallic flake instrument panel. The gauges feature adjustable dimmers to make night cruising easier on the eyes. There is also a leather-wrapped tilt steering wheel, a Raymarine VHF radio with DSC (Digital Selective Calling), and a Plastimo compass mounted at eye level. The gel coat is tinted gray and has anti-glare at the helm to keep the reflection to a minimum. A nice feature of the cockpit is also the wireless remote controlled cockpit lights. They can be activated from up to 200 feet, as easy as unlocking your car door. With the push of a button they can be turned on and turned off, increasing your security when entering a dark boat at night.

Entering the cabin from the port side companionway, you are greeted to an expansive climate controlled living space complete with top quality components and finish. The cabin features more headroom than any other 30 foot yacht on the market, measuring over 6’5”. The stairs leading into the cabin have cherry wood inset treads, which compliments the cherry wood tables, door, and trim very nicely. The midcabin features the optional settee which converts to a double berth when the filler cushions are put in place. This is a great conversation area, or a place to play cards or a board game, should the weather turn foul. There is a small solid cherry wood table in this space, and great headroom. The midcabin also features its own mirrored closet, under seat storage, a vent for the heat & air conditioning system, and a curtain for privacy. With the curtain drawn closed, there is actually a changing area just forward of the berth/settee, truly making this space its own “stateroom.”

The spacious head compartment is located just forward of the companionway steps, to port. It features an electric flush toilet with macerator, sink, vanity and mirrored medicine cabinet. The full 6’4” of headroom makes showering a breeze, and the wraparound curtain keeps the entire compartment dry. This is great use of space. The head entry door and trim is made of solid cherry wood with high-end brass door hardware.

The full service galley is located to port, just forward of the head. It features a glass cook top, microwave/toaster oven/convection combo, a deep stainless steel sink with Corian counter insert, and a dual voltage Tundra refrigerator/freezer. There is also an abundance of storage compartments, both above and below the galley counter top.

Across from the galley to starboard is the crescent-shaped dinette, which features a removable solid cherry wood table, supple Ultraleather upholstery, and storage throughout. Digital controls for the climate system are located here, as is the yachts main electrical panel which controls all of the 120v and 12v power onboard.

Forward of the main salon is the master stateroom. This consists of an elevated queen berth, mirrored closet, air/heat vent, and a privacy curtain. There is ample storage under the bed for the canvas enclosures, as well as a dedicated storage slot for the dinette’s Ultraleather filler cushion and the cherry wood table.

Throughout the entire cabin and head are opening port holes which really bring in the breeze and natural light. All port holes and hatches are screened to keep the bugs out, and can be darkened with either snap-on covers or by drawing the small curtains closed. Premium fixtures abound in the cabin, with overhead lighting provided by brass halogen fixtures, and premium door and cabinet hardware. A tasteful and distinctly modern color palette is presented with hand-sewn premium fabrics, which are very inviting after a day in the sun.

The engine compartment hatch is on a manual lift with two gas-assist struts to hold it open. It is positioned in between the two bench seats in the aft cockpit, making it easy to open without having to pull up cushions, move seats, and remove carpet like some other brands. Overall, complete access to all critical points does not get any better than this. Everything is easy to get to, and everything is easily labeled for quick identification. This will help make servicing the boat very simple. The Volvo Penta engines have space along the top and sides for easy access, plus the filters and dip sticks are located in the front of the engines. The generator is also easy to service. This boat features the optional Kohler 7.3 kw generator with a complete sound shield. Most boats in this class would have the smaller and noisier 5 kw generator that does not have a sound shield. The 7.3 is also very fuel efficient, burning about ½ gallon of gasoline per hour, under an average load. There is a 6 gallon electric water heater that also heats water via a heat exchanger on the port side engine, a great energy saving feature that uses the engine to heat the water while underway.

Because this is a private party sale, Minnesota buyers will not pay any sales tax on this purchase. Boat loan interest rates are low, and terms are available up to 20 years, making this as affordable as a midsized car purchase! Also, this boat qualifies as a second home, so the interest paid is tax deductible. I can provide a bank reference if you are in need of financing. Start creating memories that will last a lifetime. Boat ownership truly is the best way to connect with friends and family, make new friends, and experience the relaxation and joy that comes with being on the water.
