Ultimate Commuter Car - 1987 Corvette, 74,000 miles Automatic, Hard top convertible, Red with Black Interior!
Ultimate Commuter Car - 1987 Corvette, 74,000 miles Automatic, Hard top convertible, Red with Black Interior!
Commute to work in incredible style. A 1987 Corvette is the perfect commuter car, especially with $4-5/gallon gas. First, it’s a two seater, so all carpool lanes and bridges are available with only one extra person, instead of two. Second, the car is extremely gas efficient. It’s a sports car, but I can get 25-30 MPG on the highway (although it takes some practice) and it takes regular gas! Put those together and you have a great car to drive every day. I purchased it in 1996 and have kept it garaged and under a cover the whole time. Consequently, the original paint is in nearly perfect condition. The car was a custom order when it was made, with multiple security systems, custom rims, leather sports seats that include lumbar support, basically it has every option that was available at the time. It is a hard top convertible with two different tops, the matching red and the extremely rare smoked glass, perfect for looking at the stars.
What really sets it apart is the Greenwood body package that was usually only used on the Indy 500 pace cars. I have never seen another corvette with this body package, except on TV. The car is in great condition and the smog test proves it. For a 21 year old car, they don’t make them like this anymore!
I am selling it because I had my first child and car seats don’t fit, so I don’t get to drive it as much as I would like anymore. My loss is your gain. Get a car that you will want to drive every day!
