This Bayliner is set up to give you maximum comfort for two people. She will sleep four comfortably by utilizing the dinette, a couch, and the V-Berth. However, her main purpose is a comfortable cruise for the Captain and First Mate. Her wide 11 plus beam makes for a stable ride and when at anchor less rock and roll.
She is powered by twin Volvo V-8 s and out-drives for better maneuverability and performance. If you would like to cruise the sea, she's a perfect weekend getaway to Catalina Island. This is an as is purchase.
The boat has a comfortable main salon, a full galley with stove refrigerator, and dual sinks, a bathroom with a separate fully enclosed shower, a comfortable V-Berth for sleeping, and a Fly Bridge with a captains chair, passenger seat, and a table with L shaped seating for guests with a spectacular topside view of the water as you cruise along.
Both engines run great, but one engine needs the carburetor cleaned. One outdrive needs a new or rebuilt housing unit ($300. to $800.) It also needs new pins on the outdrives (maybe $150.)
If you Google: 1980 Bayliner Encounter there are 3 for sale for over $22,000. Two months ago an identical Bayliner sold for $19,000. so $4,500. with a few repairs is a GREAT BARGAIN. <BR>
The buyer has to submit an application for a slip---slips do NOT transfer. California Yacht Marina (a few marinas over from where she is currently berthed) has slips available for this boat. The monthly slip fee is $302. This boat also qualified for a slip at Long Beach Shoreline Marina--but you have to get on their waiting list--4 to 6 month wait. This boat is newly surveyed (a $400. Savings to the buyer).
