Job Description: We are seeking an Alternative Investment Accountant in San Francisco, California.
Responsibilities: * Independently prepare draft financial statements (which will include Balance Sheets, Income Statements, Statements of Changes in Net Assets or Capital, Statements of Cash Flow, Schedules of Investments, Financial Highlights and Notes to the Financial Statements) for review, utilizing system-generated reports (from InvestOne Accounting System) Excel spreadsheets, and offering documents. * Complete Financial Reporting Checklist for each report prepared. * Prepare multiple drafts of the financial statements as required, reflecting internal and external comments as received. * Interact with the accounting department managers and staff to obtain information and understanding of account balances in order to determine how best to present that data on the draft financial statements. * Maintain and, if required, prepare supporting documentation of draft financial statements prepared.
Business Skills: * At least 2 to 3 years public accounting experience within the partnership and hedge fund industry; or 3 to 5 years private experience specifically in preparing financial reports for hedge funds, partnerships or mutual funds. * Strong accounting and financial reporting background for GAAP basis funds.
Education/Licenses/Certifications: * B.S. in Accounting preferred.
